POMONA >> The L.A. County Fair is coming and with it its bringing more than 1,000 jobs.

Fairplex in Pomona is hosting a job fair Tuesday, June 27 to fill 1,200 seasonal positions at this year’s fair.

“We actually get people of all ages (over 18), so we see a very diverse workforce,” said Renee Hernandez, Fairplex spokeswoman. “Most of the time they are from the area — people who can get here quickly so it’s easy for them to get here. We usually just draw from western San Bernardino County and eastern Los Angeles County.”

Applicants are required to be 18 and over, applications must be completed at www.fairplexjobs.com, although computers will be available on site June 27, officials said. The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Applicants are expected to prepare for face-to-face interviews.

You can’t make to the job fair? No problem, Hernandez said.

“If they can’t make it to the job fair, they can start applying now all the way up to the fair,” she said.

Positions are available in admissions, credentials, guest relations, parking, the carnival, accounting, grounds entertainment, the creative and wine departments and maintaining facilities.

The L.A. County Fair runs from Sept. 1-24 and is closed Mondays and Tuesday, except Labor Day.
